Ending the poem with this line gives an optimistic tone to the work. There is a sense of pleasure that comes up with the word “delighted.”
The earlier allusion to the Argonauts in line 300 brings to mind the ship, the Argo. In order for a ship to move, there needs to be wind blowing the sails. This same reference to blowing wind and sails is later made with the lines “Sail or. / Sail or rustle.” The reference to the blowing wind, which can represent the poet, gives a impression that Stein is greatly delighted with the direction that the poem ended up going and the journey that both the reader and she both went on.
